Soil Sample Cost-Share Program
Testing for Organic Matter, Micronutrients and Electrical Conductivity
Maximize your crop yields by testing more than just the basic nutrients in your soil. While Nitrogen, Phosphorus, Potassium, and pH are essential, micronutrients can be the key to unlocking your full potential. These micronutrients and organic matter levels play a significant role in soil health, influencing water retention and nutrient availability. Regular testing for these minor components every few years can help identify any limiting factors that could be holding your yields back.
The Northern Panhandle Conservation District is now offering a 50% cost-share on High Tunnel Samples ($7.00 per sample) and Field/Garden Samples ($5.50 per sample) for up to five samples per year. After five samples, cooperators must pay full price for samples. All samples must be delivered to the office and test results will be released once we have received your samples back and your invoice is paid in full. NRCS staff is available to go over these results by request and appointment only if needed.
NOTE: Basic soil sampling remains free for cooperators.
